Sea Cucumber
We had two relaxing dives in Loch Goil today. It is not an area we dive very often but it is nice for a change of scene. One strange creature we came across was the sea cucumber. It looks a bit like a miniature tree, which catches prey in its arm "branches" then pops the food into its mouth at the top of its trunk (the middle front arm in the photo is doing just that). They are queer looking things, sea cucumbers: if disturbed, they will withdraw their arms so that they just look like a shrivelled blob.
