Whopper Spiny Starfish

We came across this whopper of a spiny starfish today in Loch Fyne. To give you an idea of its size, the sea urchin to the left on the rock is about the size of a clenched fist. Spiny starfish can measure up to around 80cm in diameter and they have spines on each of their 5 legs. They're voracious predators and, like all starfish, can regenerate their limbs if they lose one.
