RAF Rescue

Well, a sobering day at St Abbs. We were fortunate and had two lovely dives. We went out about 9.30am for a two tank dive and returned around 1.15pm. Just after we were onshore, a shout went up for a diver in trouble and soon after the RAF rescue helicopter arrived to winch the injured diver up and fly him to Aberdeen hyperbaric chamber. These incidents always give you funny feelings but you also are always filled with admiration for the guys who fly the helicopters and do the rescues. The skill they demonstrate in hovering hardly any height from the sea is amazing. Hopefully, the diver is ok and will make a speedy recovery.
